Frequently Asked Questions

For Peace of Mind

Having seen many weddings and having planned our own, we understand that planning a wedding can be a stressful experience. That's why we've put together this page to answer some of the most common questions we receive from our clients. We pride ourselves on our clean, friendly, classic, candid, and documentary-style brand, as well as our seamless communication between artistic talent, making the wedding day go smoothly, and our ability to capture the essence of each wedding we shoot. Our goal is to ensure that your wedding day is a joyful and memorable experience that you'll cherish for years to come. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.
How many photos do you typically take at a wedding?
It varries quite a lot depending on the wedding, but we normally take several thousand photos.
Do you edit all of the photos?
Weddings are very fast paced, so we trim down the photos that we take to the very best. We normally deliver about 50 photos per hour that we are photographing the event.
How long does it take to receive the photos and videos?
We normally deliver your photos and videos within three months of your wedding, but it may be longer or shorter depending on how busy the part of the season you booked in is.
Do you offer custom wedding albums?
Yes! If you're looking for an album, let us know and we can send you our album pricing sheet.
How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
As a general rule, you should plan on booking your photographer about 9-12 months before your wedding. If you're wedding is coming up faster than that, though, don't hestate to reach out! We may still have your day available.
What is your cancellation policy?
We know that if you're having to cancel or reschedule your wedding, it must be a very stressful time. We try to be as flexible as possible in these situations. If you reschedule to a date that we are available, we don't charge a cancellation fee and will transfer your deposit to your new date. If you cancel entirely, your deposit is non-refundable.
Do you offer a second shooter or assistant on the wedding day?
Absolutely! You can add-on a second photographer and/or videographer to any package. Send us a note and we can let you know our current prices!
What equipment do you use for photography and videography?
We believe that the quality of gear really does matter, so we always try to stay up to date with the best photo and video equipment we can. For photography, our main cameras are a Canon R5 and a Canon R6. For videography, our main camera is a RED Komodo, which has been used on the set of a large number of hollywood films and TV shows including Wednesday Adams (you can see the full list here). We also use top-line lenses, lightin equipment, stabilization gear, audio recorders, and microphones. If you have any specific gear questions, feel free to reach out and ask!
Do you deliver raw photos and videos?
We only deliver the edited photos and videos. The primary reason is feasibility - raw photos and videos are only viewable using professional editing software, and we don't want to put the burden on you to have to learn how to use that software. We also consider editing to be a core part of our service, and we want to make sure that you get the best possible photos and videos.
Can we request specific shots or poses?
Absolutely! We've been to a lot of weddings and are good at capturing the traditional and meaningful shots, but we aren't mind readers. If there is something in particular that you want to make sure we get, just let us know and we'll do our best to capture it.
How do you handle inclement weather on the wedding day?
We are masters of adaptation. We've dealt with hurricanes, snowstorms, flash thunderstorms, and every other scenario. We always make as many contingency plans as we can and will prod you to do the same during the planning process. Our hard constraint is that we can't shoot in weather that is unsafe for us or our equipment. That's in your best interest, too - if our cameras go down, your photos and videos go with them!
Can we meet with you before booking to discuss our wedding and see more of your work?
Absolutely! We strongly prefer being able to meet you before booking. That way we can both make sure it's a good fit. Send us a message through our contact page and we'll send you a booking link.
What is your travel policy and do you charge for travel expenses?
We don't charge for travel inside of a 75 mile radius of our address. Beyond that, we do have to charge a travel fee to cover our additional costs. Let us know where your wedding is, and we can lett you know what the travel fee will be.
Can I choose the music for my wedding film?
We can only use the music that we can license. That means that we unfortunately can't use most radio-hit songs unless you have a very large budget and some connections to the music industry. We have access to a number of licensed music libraries that we pull music from. Normally we try to get a sense of the music you like and then pick something that fits your wedding. If you have a specific song in mind, we can try to find something similar in our libraries.
